Domestic
violence is a plague on our society and the Oklahoma County District
Attorney's Office Domestic Violence Division is working diligently to
fight against domestic violence. The domestic violence docket is the busiest in the courthouse. Through collaborative efforts and
innovative community outreach programs such as the YWCA (Oklahoma
City), we are beginning to see the tide shift and more women and
children are being protected from their abusers.
If you or anyone you know has been a victim of domestic violence,
do not hesitate to contact your local law enforcement agency and rest
assured that the Oklahoma County District Attorney's Office fight to
help protect your rights and ensure the perpetrator meets justice
face-to-face.
District Attorney Prater has established a dedicated Domestic Violence
Team which includes; prosecutors, investigators and domestic violence
victim advocate. Provides trained professionals to incarcerate the
abuser and much needed services for the victim. Services such as
safety planning, counseling and support groups.
Together, we can stop domestic violence. It begins with a phone call.
